Another blog challenge is straight ahead, coming to you soon! This time I will be blogging aways with other fellow bloggers (like Annmarie and Billie) and connecting, sharing and linking up ! I’m so excited to get started this started, and so happy to share one of my new favorite blogs: “Story of my Life” by Jenni! She’s so real and down to earth and frankly someone to look up to in the photo biz.

So come along for the ride, and join me again as I embark on this wonderful challenge called “Blogtember” yaaaaahooooooo! The challenges assigned are listed below :)

Tuesday, Sept. 3: Describe where or what you come from. The people, the places, and/or the factors that make up who you are.
Wednesday, September 4: If you could take three months off from your current life and do anything in the world, what would you do? (bonus points for fun photos from Pinterest, but don’t forget to cite the source!)
Thursday, September 5: Pass on some useful advice or information you learned and always remembered.
Friday, September 6: A story about a time you were very afraid.
Monday, September 9: Take this short personality test and respond to your results. (at the end, find the detailed profile of your personality account – click “click to view” under “You” and “self awareness and personal growth.” You can even google your type and find more info on it!)
Tuesday, September 10: Describe a distinct moment when your life took a turn.
Wednesday, September 11: Share links to your favorite online shops, preferably with a few photos of your favorite items in each shop.
Thursday, September 12: Discuss ways that blogging or social media has changed you.
Friday, September 13: A self portrait
Monday, September 16: Write a public love letter to someone in your life. (It doesn’t necessarily need to be romantic.)
Tuesday, September 17: A memory you would love to relive.
Wednesday, September 18: Only photos
Thursday, September 19: Creative writing day: write a (very short) fictional story that starts with this sentence: “To say I was dreading the dinner party would be the understatement of the century.”
The story does not necessarily need to have a conclusion – you can leave your readers wishing for more!
Friday, September 20: React to this term: comfort.
Monday, September 23: A “life lately” post. What you’re up to, how you’re feeling, how you’re doing on your goals, etc. Bonus points for great photos!
Tuesday, September 24: Review a book, place, or product.
Wednesday, September 25: Write about a time you screwed up – a mistake you made.
Thursday, September 26: Go to a coffee shop. Order a favorite drink. Write about what makes you happy and what makes you sad. Or write about anything you’d like! Bonus points for including a photo from the coffee shop. (I recommend downloadingOmmwriter and bringing headphones along!) *if you can’t make it to a coffee shop, at least leave your usual space and write someplace new.
Friday, September 27: An anonymous letter to your Facebook friends. Be as snarky as you’d like. (but don’t include people’s real names.)
Monday, September 30: Share a photo of something old. Maybe something that has personal history for you, that was passed down to you, and that has special meaning to you. Tell us about it and why it’s special.

Hey everyone that was catching up on Annette. Just wanted to let you know she isn’t gone but we did go on vaca for a week or so and it was really hard to keep up with the posting, but don’t worry every day was captured…. but some were more boring than others.

Heres the image taken right before leaving for vaca…. and she wore her hair like that for 2 or 3 days (I think) so sorry about the lack of hair styling.

(this image discusses, breast feeding and the maternal controversy presented with public nursing)

3’s never a crowd!

North Shore bloggers unite ! So, Annmarie and I decided to start a ‘thing’ we’ll more like a club or collaboration between artist and bloggers! So naturally, Billie, is the first official member and co(co)-host! Billie’s blog and style is awesome and ya’ll should go take some time out of your day now to check out her latest fashion tips and graphic art :) really! She’s AH-MAY-ZING!

Billie is starting a new trend “What I wore Wednesday”, where she shares a look straight from her closet…. and well bookshelf. Yes I said bookshelf…. but it’s a bookshelf displaying a collection of cool pumps, flats, sandals, and her adorable fiances sneaks 😉 and yes he’s adorable because he totally supports her crazy love for all things fashion and organizational habits.

The three of us ventured out without a total plan. I actually prefer to “wing it” most of the time because thats when I really get the best inspirational vibes. Walking towards the Salem Screamery to get some ice cream for this cutesy outfit, someone rode by me on a bicycle and AHHH-HAAAA, it came to me. I have had the desire to exhibit this look from my “idea cabinet” filed away in the back of my head for a year now. I’m soooo happy I did! So I calmly composed myself and asked the woman at the front desk of the bike shop: “Can I ask you a funny favor?” Soon enough we were rolling down the streets of salem in style. It really worked out so great !

Diamonds & Shooting Stars

So a while back I was doing a post about BFF’s and knowing that I wanted to save Jackie a special post…. IM SO GLAD I WAITED. After ten long years, Jackies finally engaged !!!!! I am so happy and honored to be apart of your celebration and embark on this journey as you plan the most incredible day of your life!

jackie-danceAlso, there is a beneficial tutuorial I have created for all of you followers out there, but you have to wait till the end of the post !

So Jackie and I met years back when working together. At first we really didn’t work many shifts together and it actually was a year before we started hanging out. Still to this day we are not even sure what our first outing together was, or when we first became friends. Everything that is suppose to happen, just does the way that it does. I am so thankful to have such and inspirational, kind and compassionate, creative, soulful person in my life. Jackie is always a positive presence that fills the room, constantly encouraging others to feel the same. She is goofy and silly, and frankly just an all over good time. She has so much compassion for others, the most being her family and friends. I am so proud to have her as a best friend.

Below is a picture of her and her fiance ( wow ) last August while up at Lake Wini at our friend Dave’s. Look at these two! Seriously, they are just the cutest! Screen shot 2013-08-16 at 6.21.34 PM

When she set off for her trip to Bar Harbor last week, I dropped off a camera for her to borrow. Running out of their house, I hopped into my car, strapped the seatbelt on and took a deep breath. I had this huge overcoming feeling that it was going to happen, finally. I was so so happy to wake up to a text two days later of a picture of her bedazzeled finger. Her ring was perfect, and everything that she has always described: simplistic, detailed, and a little vintage. Danny nailed it. The princess cut diamond was perched on band delicately ingraved with the beautiful victorian, floral design. AHHH-MAZING !

So, have been called a “good gift giver” from time to time (not trying to toot my own horn or anything, I’m just saying) So Jackie is obsessed with those “KEEP CALM AND CHIVE ON” shirts. She was showing us that she wanted to get that said “I CAN’T KEEP CALM, IM GETTING MARRIED” and it was pintrest. When I went to it after getting home the link to the esty shop was dead so I was unable to find it :/

So I ran out to target to get some cute shirts and AC Moore to get some duct tape and canvas and proceed to make my own shirt :)

So, this is the silk screen finally drying. When it’s completely dry, I will wash out the drawing fluid (blue stuff) which is painted on in order to block out the the screen block (redish stuff). It works like a stamp, kinda. You place water-souluable ink at the top of the screen and then squeegee it on pressing the ink through the screen onto fabric ( or really any material desired).

materials: drawing fluid, screen block, wooden frame, staple gun, duct tape, silk screen material, paintbrushes, drop cloth, squeegee, and an image drawn on paper to trace from.

Next your going to place the image under the screen to be able to trace it. Allow the screen to hover over the image so that the paint does not stick to the screen.

_JRO5125

_JRO5119 I allowed the paper to stick because I wanted a more distressed look. When I peeled the paper off it took some of the drawing fluid that I had clumped in areas.

Next take your screen outside or to a place that your not upset about getting messy, because if your at all like me… messes like this can quickly get very disastrous. I like to be sure I don’t ruin anything.Place the screen so that is raised from the ground, with the same side you painted facing up. Next, you want to take a spoonful of ink block and spread it out the length of the screen. Ultimately, the goal is to only go over the screen once because multiple times could possibly wipe out your drawing fluid. When your done squeegeeing the ink onto the screen, let it completly dry in an upright position. When it is dry rinse out the drawing fluid. Unwanted areas can be scrubbed or filled as desired.

This total process took me 5 hours. Printing takes only a few moments. When printing lay the material flat and with pressure do only 2-3 (at the most) runs through with the ink. Allow the ink to dry and then to adhere the ink better to the material place tissue paper, newsprint or a thin cloth on the covered areas and iron the design. The heat helps infuse the two materials together and allows it to last longer without fading or flaking.

15/30

There’s an energy in the water today that you can only get on August 15th, so for all you fellow followers : make sure to take a dip in the ocean or lake near you for some healing and energizing/ rejuvenating power transfers.

So as I just finally was able to reach a computer to fix up my last post from the past couple of days, I was able to look back and reflect on my shoots from this week. Heres the one from this morning “15/30” The b&w one really has such a timeless feel; however I really like the juxtaposition that is happening in the color version. What are your thoughts?

This is an outtake…. i wish this makeup was more visible in the photo taken above but I felt the feeling that I was shooting for was still evoked.

I’m glad I was finally feeling the whole image this morning, because the sole reason we took this journey was for the bathtub. Not only did I get some really awesome images, but I met a lot of cool people two including fellow artists, Patty and Katie, a mother-daughter duo.

14/30

So I really wanted this one to be the “winner” for the day, however it bothers my slightly that its not as crisp as the others because I’m so slightly hanging out of the focal range that I set my camera to be at…yet I still really love this one. I’m calling it day number 14.

These next two were my back up plans, but I wasn’t sure about the top because it kinda fit the couch almost too much…. However they do have quite the classy feel 😉 Screen shot 2013-08-15 at 3.00.57 PM Screen shot 2013-08-15 at 3.01.24 PM   And this image is the perfect reason why its difficult to have your best friend cracking jokes while your trying to be serious ! HaHa, there were so many more of these kinds of shots! They are just to funny. Screen shot 2013-08-15 at 3.02.05 PM

Two out takes…. so this was while I was waiting for the sun to set a little lower to get the look that I desired. I was really kinda all over the on this particular day because nothing had really inspired me….

And this is totally the reason why photographers love the short moments before sunset, the “sucker-lighting” (as my past mentor, Lexi, had put it). AAAAAAHHHHH-mazinggg! Screen shot 2013-08-15 at 2.43.52 PM
